Hamsa Yoga in Astrology: Meaning, Formation and Results
Hamsa Yoga in Astrology
Hamsa Yoga is one of the Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas and is formed when Jupiter is strongly placed in a kendra from the lagna, usually in its own sign or exaltation sign. This yoga is associated with wisdom, ethics, learning, spirituality, respect and guidance.
How Hamsa Yoga is formed
The classical condition is Jupiter in Sagittarius, Pisces or Cancer in the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house. The yoga becomes more effective when Jupiter is unafflicted, strong in degree, supported by dasha and connected with benefic influences.
Possible results
A strong Hamsa Yoga may give teaching ability, spiritual inclination, social respect, generosity, intelligence and protection in difficult situations. The native may be drawn toward education, law, counseling, scriptures, philosophy or advisory roles.
Important cautions
The yoga should not be judged by placement alone. Combustion, harsh aspects, functional lordship, divisional chart strength and dasha timing can modify results. A weak or afflicted Jupiter may reduce the purity of the yoga.
Hamsa Yoga is powerful when the whole chart supports dharma, wisdom and responsible conduct.
